At Rock On Audio we strive to design and manufacture the most innovative and durable audio gear. Founder and primary engineer, Pete Lewis, formed the company in January of 2008. Today, we are still very proud to say that all of our products are still made in the USA!

Only 6 months after the formation of the company, the website was live and we began selling the first generation hand-made Rockboxes straight out of the garage. In March of 2010, Rock On Audio outsourced production to Sparkfun Electronics in Boulder CO (just 15 minutes away). Although a substantial amount of manual soldering still goes into making a Rockbox, at Sparkfun Electronics, we were able to speed up the production process quite dramatically by using a Pick and Place machine. On the first day of production we were sure to post a video on the homepage. Click here if you'd like to watch the PnP in action.

In June of 2010, a rather interesting thing happened: the Australian Government put one Rockbox in every courtroom across Queensland! It was our largest order yet, and prooved to be one heck of a soldering summer!

That same crazy summer, Rock On Audio managed to attend Summer NAMM in Nashville and was awarded "Best in Show" for the Rockbox Limiter and Rockon Cable Package.

In November of 2010 we went live with the most recent revision of the Rockbox design. It included many new features that dramatically improved the product.

The forum was launched in February of 2011. We have been very excited to interact with all our current and future customers in this new way! We hope to continue to maintain a close relationship with the musicians using our gear. We also hope that the Forum can provide a great resource to share ideas and create the next most innovative and durable peice of audio gear. Thanks for stopping by and Rock on!

These are some of the highlights that have made our business exciting. A more in-depth history of the company is available in our past news section.
